You can't hang it on a wall, but they use only slightly more power than a same size LCD, and far less than plasma. Plus, the price is less than half an LED of LCD.

They do have a shorter life, but you can make up the difference in savings.

1. Bulb replacement

We have quite a few DLP projectors at work and the bulbs go out on a pretty regular basis and are quite expensive. As far as how that will factor in to your total cost, I'm not sure.

Newer plasma TVs are also much more energy efficient than older models, but you can still get wide variances between energy use on LCDs and Plasma TV models, so it's certainly worthwhile to check the energy consumption and figure that into your overall cost.

on some of the newer DLP TVs, the bulbs are cheaper & easier to replace (i.e., you can do it yourself instead of needing it serviced)
