Pocket dialing may have saved woman's life

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- An accidental pocket dial from a cellphone may have saved a 20-year-old Town of Lima woman from greater harm.

According to a criminal complaint, 21-year-old Floyd Rashid, of Sheboygan, is accused of pinning his girlfriend to the ground and threatening her life Monday night.

The complaint says while the attack was happening, Rashid's cellphone pocket-dialed his girlfriend's father, who heard his daughter screaming and heard Rashid ask her if she wanted to die.

The Sheboygan Press reported the father sped to the couple's house and found Rashid still pinning the woman. He then grabbed Rashid and threw him against a wall and Rashid ran away.

The dead eyes, the lumpy face that looks like it's been used as a blunt instrument (probably was, throughout his life). It's like he walked out of Central Casting in the thug department. I couldn't get a woman to look crosseyed at me when I was this kid's age, and here he is with a girlfriend.

Is that when someone accidently bumps some button on a cell hone and it dials that number while the cell phone is still in their pocket?
