1. That's cute!
I wonder if the reason they like tight spots is that it reminds them of being squinched up with their littermates & it's comforting.

I picked out my dog when he was only 4 wks. old & went to visit several times before bringing him home. He & his 3 brothers & one sister slept piled up together in a ball. To this day, he has to be touching something -- one of us or a pillow -- when he sleeps.

2. Yes, I believe you have something there with the squinch theory.
I've thought the same thing.

Some critters have squinch in their dna.

Including people.

I know some human squinchers as well.

4. I've wondered something similar about my cat. I found out he LOVES emory boards, he
chews them, licks them, loves to be "petted" by them. I wondered if he doesn't remember momma's tongue?

5. Mine does the same thing.
Always thought he was just a loopy cat.

6. What could be closer to a cat's tongue than an emery board? How sweet!
Maybe you could get him a stuffed cat & glue a portion of the emery board to the mouth?

:hi:
