I watch much less tv. I watch Real Time, the Daily Show and that is it. I have CNN or CBC or CTv on in the background as I post at the DU. I have no current sitcoms or dramas that I watch. I watch CNN or CBC as I visit my parents' house.

1. I like NCIS and Breaking Bad and often have it on as absolutely nothing more than background noise,

I like movies, but good ones are surprisingly rare on TV anymore.

6. I just got the dvds for the first three shows of breaking bad. Will I get into right away?
Or is it like "the wire" in that it takes a while to get the rhythm of the show?

3. I don't watch any TV because MG Jr. has commandeered it
If he's not watching Nick or Disney or toons on Netflix through the Xbox, then he's playing video games on the widescreen.

However, I watch all my TV shows online now (Hulu mostly), so I'm not "deprived". :P

4. Castle and The Mentalist.
I feel a bond with fundamentally screwed up weisenheimers. No idea why.

5. Definitely less TV
I have only a few "can't miss" shows, all of them on PBS: Masterpiece, Nova, and Frontline. (I don't have cable.)

14. I was wondering
Where you were from. Canada, eh? I don't know why I was thinking England. I watched much of Mad Men on the computer. I loved The Sopranos, closed my eyes and ears during the violence, but loved the characters and the plot. My tv is on rabbit ears. It sucks. My computer has been this fancy phone. One finger Mom.

9. I record and watch everything on a DVR. And watch it when I have time. Sometimes months later.

13. It's complete trash.
Next to nothing worth watching. I only have broadcast. I've been exposed to cable often enough in my life to know that its just a bigger, and expensive, wasteland, so I say meh to that.

There are only a handful of programs worth watching as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy 'Modern Family' because its smart, funny, and not vulgar. I really enjoy the 'History Detectives' series on PBS, although it's just a summer thing, and only 9 episodes are produced a year. I still love 'The Simpsons' after all of these years, but the rest of Fox's sunday night animated shows are the terribly vulgar Seth McFarland stuff, so forget it. I watch a lot of the 'Create' subchannel of PBS, and I particularly enjoy some of the more exotic cooking shows like 'New Scandinavian Cooking' or 'Food Trip'. I honestly can't think of a scripted drama on network tv that I watch now. I know CBS has a couple that are said to be pretty decent, such as 'The Good Wife' but I never got into watching it. I used to watch some of the Law and Order shows despite the violence, but those get old and stale -- the best one was 'Criminal Intent' with the original cast, a little smarter and more complex than the original or SVU.

It seems to me that every tv season gets worse. More vulgarity, more 'reality' shows, which I despise with a passion.

I also often watch syndicated reruns of 'Seinfeld' because, well, you've gotta love the Drake, it's a real Festivus for the rest of us, even though the first episodes aired 22 years ago.

15. I stop for Olbermann, sometimes Maddow
and Jeopardy. Otherwise I record usually stuff like NOVA or some stuff off Freespeech or Link.
I can't even think of a network show I watch.
Well, college (big ten) football.
