2. Don't it make ya wanna cry
There was so much he did to mention beyond those few greatest hits, why not mention Jonathan Livingston Seagull or African Trilogy, Crunchy Granola Suite that everybody else took off and ran with ... just to name a couple hilites. I am in awe of this man though I don't pretend to love everything he does.

Leon Russell was finally inducted too, did you see that link? With Elton John bringing him on?

Paul Simon seemed weird, like he didn't like Neil or didn't think he deserved it. I caught that vibe, anyway, maybe I was mistaken.

3. Tap Root Manuscript was brilliant. Paul Simon is just jealous.
When Paul Simon produced Graceland, the music media all fawned all over him for going over to Africa and incorporating African rhythms in some of the songs. But we all knew who went over there first and did it best.

26. When I was akid I loved Taproot Manuscript. But I don't think Paul Simon had a problem.
He's like that. Very dry in public.

5. I didn't catch that vibe at all.
Paul Simon has always been awkward at public speaking.

But give him a guitar as a shield between him and a crowd of thousands and he'll calm right down.

He seemed empathetic and a little angry that it took so long for Neil to be admitted if anything.

6. It seemed to me Diamond enjoyed the Jewish humor but did not appreciate Simon
making fun of Streisand.

8. I only like 2 songs of his: Solitary Man and Brooklyn Roads.
Because they're so bloody TRIBAL. He must've absorbed every note of that Cantor every Saturday in Temple, just like Graham Gouldman did in Manchester England, when he wrote For your Love, No Milk Today, and Bus Stop. Man, those minor keys hit a visceral part of me, and I was brought up secular! Maybe you can take the girl out of the Shtetl but you can't take the Shtetl outta the girl.

12. That's right. His new stuff is awesome.
I would love to see him do MORE and MORE accoustic albums of him doing other people's songs, too. He's simply the best, especially when he keeps it simple.

19. Okay, that was funny
But you know what's weird? I always thought old Sam was kinda hot.

Just the same, no matter how old he gets, when I think of Neil Diamond, I will always visualize this guy:
