I you could have one room from your dream home what would it be. Me, I'd build
a screened in porch. Like we used to have at the old cottage. The screened in porch would be surrounded by dragon flowers in a rock garden. It would have a dinner table in the middle of it. And an outdoor fireplace. I think of that room often these days.

1. My dream house was one huge room
totally open, with a cooking spot and a fireplace. Oh and a porch.

2. The indulgent side of me says a conservatory/greenhouse.
I actually have 2 greenhouses, but only use them seasonally since it costs more to heat for a winter than the value of the plants. It would be nice to have one attached to the house that I could afford to keep heated enough to keep things over the winter.

However, the practical side says what I really need is a great big walk in closet with all kinds of storage space.

Or, just less junk. Time for the enormous garage sale.

3. I would love a luxury bathroom with a hugely expensive gigantic tub and lots of closet space.
OR I would like my MIL's laundry room, which is a pleasant and comfortable nook with lots of counter space for folding. I would love doing laundry if I could do it in her laundry room instead of my laundry room, which smells like dogs.

5. A spectacular library, like this one:

And in one corner on the second floor, I'd have a bump out section, with a dome, constructed so I could have a small observatory.

6. A tiki bar
It would be an indoor-outdoor bar, with a fire pit, palm trees and other tropical vegetation, tiki torches, and all the tiki bar kitsch. And, I think I'd put a spa/hot tub in it, too. And, since this is my "dream house" and I can afford all this stuff, all the decor will be authentic Polynesian tikis, masks, etc.
