What's the most unusual food you've ever craved?
Just curious.

Some of mine: smoked oysters, pickled herring, tomatos, kidney beans, almonds.

Do you think it means something when we crave something strange?

2. Arby's Horsey Sauce
Not sure why, as I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I have ever eaten at Arby's. It's been well over ten years since I last ate there. But, every so often, I want that sauce.

As for the strange cravings, some say it's a deficiency of some vitamin or mineral.

4. Breaded and fried panfish roe.
Yes, it sound weird, and probably disgusting to many people. But it is SO good -- closest thing I can related it too is a fried oyster, although the roe is more mild tasting and not salty, since it comes from freshwater panfish.

14. Waste not, want not.
We eat the whole critter, except for the fur, guts, feet and stuff. Guess I could have said buffalo balls or rattlesnake but I've only had them once. It was good but I can't say I crave it.

To be honest, it's been many years since I've eaten squirrel. Guess I've gotten civilized. :-(

15. OMG! Stone crabs!! I love them.
There was a restaurant in Miami Springs where I lived that would have an all-you-could-eat stone crabs special at least once a month. I would starve all day so that I could fill myself up on the crabs. Since I have lived here in North Georgia, I have only found them once in a grocery and that was a long time ago. If I want stone crabs, I would have to go into Atlanta.

20. Yeah not many stone crabs here.

I only know of one restaurant that you can count on to have them while they're in season, and that's Lob$ter Bar.

You can usually find them for sale at Whole Foods. I don't have one near me.

I suppose you can order them online too.

So I get to eat them about once a year or maybe once every other year.

You mentioned all you can eat. Monty's down in florida (R.I.P.) used to have all you can eat stone crabs. They'd get smaller and smaller and take longer and longer to get your next 3 claws. LOL. But I was patient.

for the closest store. And I do not like driving into Atlanta. It is not that far away, but I cannot stand the traffic. I will check out ordering them online.

23. For what you'd pay to order them from Joe's or one of those, you'd
probably be better off braving the traffic. (pun intended)

There's a couple in Marietta... aren't you in Cherokee or somewhere?

16. There was a wing place in Boca.......
....that made this blue cheese dipping sauce that was unlike any blue cheese sauce I'd ever had. It was thick -- kinda the consistency of mayo -- with blue cheese chunks in it, and garlic and celery seeds. It went out of business a couple years ago.

Their wings were "ok" (I like my wings "dry", and their's were "drippy"), but I crave that blue cheese sauce to this day.
