Crosby, Stills, Nash or Young? Which is your favorite?

I love Stephen Stills' voice on every song he ever recorded.

I love David Crosby's solo album, "If I could only remember my name," even if he went a little nutty.

1. Overall, Neil Young

He just has so many great songs. But I like them other fellers too. Nash was cool in the Hollies.

I have a Steven Stills solo album that I bought just because Jimmy Page played guitar on one track. I never listen to it though lol.

He just always seemed the most complete package--solid guitar skills and vocally he fit like a glove with Crosby and Nash.

I love Neil Young, but I always looked at CSN&Y and viewed him as "which one is not like the others."

5. Young's solo work speaks for itself

Here in the Bay Area, he's best known for the Bridge concerts, annual fundraisers he puts on for a special-needs school on the Peninsula. They attract all the top local talent, and have become kind of a "happening".

11. In order of preference:

1). Young, in terms of songwriting, performance, and guitar playing

2). Stills, who is probably superior to Young in terms of guitar "technique," but he's in second place when it comes to the visceral gut-punch. His all-acoustic "Stills Alone" CD is a certified masterpiece, as is his work on the first Manassas album (the second one, with a couple of exceptions, really sucks).

3). Crosby. I love "If Only...," but once I get past that album, it's selected tracks only.

4). Nash. Not a fan, really. One or two songs, tops. Really sick of "Teach Your Children," primarily because of the way it became a hippie-slash-yuppie "anthem." Not Nash's fault, but hey...I call 'em the way I see 'em. Had some extremely tasty pedal steel guitar from Jerry Garcia, though...and he was still learning to play pedal steel at the time!

13. Gotta be Neil

Saw him with Crazy Horse about the time of the first gulf war and they tore the Target Center down. As loud, angry and aggro-filled a concert as any punk band ever put on. Saw him a few years later on a solo acoustic tour and he was just as magical in that setting. He is one of a kind.

23. I've seen CSN unplugged

at Kapiolani park outdoor concert shell on Oahu back in '88 or so. One of the best concert experiences I ever had. Also saw Neil Young when he brought his tour out to the island that year but he didn't have his regular band with him. He came with a brass section and did a lot of stuff I never heard. My girlfriend wasn't into it at all and we actually left the show after maybe four songs. A lot of people walked out.

I've always loved Neil and back in my garage band days "Powderfinger" was one of our favorite jams. We did an extended version of "The needle and the damage done" too. I love them all and CSNY was of course the cream of the whole thing but the question is pick ONE. That ain't easy but I'm going with Stephen Stills if it has to be just ONE over the rest for the solo I saw him do live outdoors in that park on an all white grand piano. The man is a multi talented master.

Although it is hard to say he's the tops, he was always my favorite. I loved Graham Nash' solo stuff too, and "Songs for Beginners" was the first album of his I heard, it is a masterpiece.
