is that the plaza with the replica of David statue?

I loved Florence when we were there 2 1/2 years ago.

2. Thanks
It was taken at a parking place, called Piazza Michelangelo and it has a replica of the David statue. Another one stands in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, where the original stood.

4. Yes, that seems to be the same place
:)

I was only one day in Florence. So it wasn't as stressful as a few days Florence.

:P

I was actually only a day in Florence. We stayed at a vacation rental about an hour away from Florence. And where in the world don't you have a view in the Tuscany :D

11. I'm so jealous!
Maybe one of these days, I can post my own photo from that spot. But, I don't think I'd be in it. I would break the camera.

Thanks for sharing this one. What a beautiful place!

16. So incredibly beautiful!
I don't want to ask what the cost of living there is...

Any museums or historical sites?

21. Florence?
Absolutely :D

Not sure how expensive it is to live there. Depends on where you live in the city I am sure.

A LOT of museums and historical sites. Damn, the whole city is a historical site :)
Most known museum is the Uffizi Gallery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uffizi

In the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze you can see the original David by Michelangelo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accademia_di_Belle_Arti_Firenze

In San Marco you can see works by Fra Angelico http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Marco_Museum

There is so much to see in Florence, one day isn't enough. But that is all I had. Guess I have to visit again :D

25. Yeah, that one day must have been torture
So much you would have wanted to do

When I was a kid our summer camp went to a big amusement park, and it was the highlight of the year, but after driving, stopping to eat, parking, getting our groups organized then getting tickets, we were only able to stay 2-3 hours -- And this was a full park on Saturday, so the lines were too long to even do much...

26. Quite a torture

I had the advantage that I was in Florence two years ago already. We saw a lot more back then. This time the only new thing I saw was the baptistry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence_Baptistery. Otherwise I didn't see as much as two years ago. It was mostly just enjoying the city and showing two friends around who never have been there before (and who were not really that much interested in the art).

22. I guess there are many who know that view
I mean it is the best view of Florence after all :)

It was a fantastic trip. The Tuscany is just a wonderful area to visit. There is so much to see. Been in that area the second time and this time we visited more smaller towns and villages, which aren't as famous as Florence but still worth a visit.

29. Miss Hc, I've been to much of Italy,
but would love to make use of friends' suggestions about particular places and experiences. I don't expect to travel there for a while, but dreaming is a part of what we do, eh?

with pleasure :)

Yes, dreaming is always a part of our life.

This time we went to one town, Colle di Val d'Elsa, near Siena http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colle_di_Val_d%27Elsa The old part of the town is just beautiful.

everything is rather close compared to the U.S. :)

Still, I feel always lucky when I am able to visit Italy.
