Feeding time on my porch: more birds
Here are some more of the birds that visit me and the orchids out on the porch.

Mourning doves, adult and immature:

Immature male and female house finches (could be purple finches; hard to tell at this age):

Lesser black-backed gold finch:

Immature robin:

And of course, Anna's hummingbirds. This is a very aggressive female:

We have hummingbirds, but I can barely see them, let alone photograph them.

8. I am actually modest and/or foolhardy enough
to admit I don't know. It's either that or a grosbeak.

9. I obviously have no problem making wildly wrong guesses in public!
At least the photos are good enough to show just how wrong I am.

14. Highly unlkely you'd see the goldfinch, towhee or hummingbird on your porch
They plant seeds on my porch but they poop elsewhere.

19. I'm pretty sure those are young purples, going by the tail fork, but bird ID is not by strong point
See above, where I thought a towhee was a robin!
