2. a Mark Twain quote seems appropriate at this time
"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

I mean if they reported me dead, I'd hold a presser.

8. I've heard that there is a practice in journalism...
...of writing obits for prominent people well ahead of their actual death. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened, except that it accidentally got posted to the website instead of filed away until the day comes.

9. I showed up for work one day when I was supposedly dead...
Woman with my name, who was my age, and who shared my profession had died over the weekend. What are the odds of that? My colleagues had read the obituary, and were taking up a collection for flowers when I walked in Monday. Don't know which of us was more startled when they blurted out "But you're supposed to be dead!"

Good thing I stopped them.

I hate gladiolas!

13. "Dead? You wish! Where are those TPS reports, slackers?"
Would have been a good retort. :-)

15. The least you could've done was be gracious enough to wait until after the funeral
before you resurrected.

17. But then they would have spent a fortune on gladiolas.
It was kind of creepy when one of them handed me the paper: it sure as hell looked like my obituary. But had any of them read it to the very end, it would have been obvious it wasn't. The last line was "She was a Jehovah's Witness".

Maybe they figured it for a misprint - or thought I'd had a death-bed conversion, though I'd hate it if they thought I was that gullible!
