1. yes - if the beer is hot ice cools it quickly so there is no waiting.
My question, have you ever had a red beer? My friends in Denver drink beer with tomato juice which wasn't bad.

3. NO! When I was in Manila a few years ago the bartenders would put ice in my beer. It drove me nuts.
They couldn't understand why I didn't want the ice.

5. Depending on the beer, warm is just fine.
And if it's something I just can't stand to have warm but I have ice, I'd just put the can or bottle in the ice and let it cool it before drinking. I wouldn't ever water down beer. If you MUST put something in a beer, the only appropriate thing is a shot glass of whiskey.

6. Just stupid
It will make the beer go flat real fast. Contact with the ice will actually accelerate the process and create one heck of a head.

Put the ice in a ziploc sandwich bag.

8. put the bottle or can in a cooler, or better yet, keep pint glasses in the freezer
there is no excuse for pouring beer over ice.

In an emergency, place the cans or bottles in a cooler, fill with ice, pour in salt to lower the melting temperature of ice and wait a few damn minutes.

Or put ice and water in a regular glass and shake for a minute then pour the beer into the pint glass. I regularly keep at least one pint glass in the freezer at all times

that if you want an ice-cold lite beer, you should just buy one and put it in the freezer.

No self-respecting 'Drink Beer, talk stupid, and holler' man would ever do that.

17. You can't holler efficiently with ice cubes in your mouth
Now, if you swallow a couple of ice trays ahead of time, you're good to go for hours.

16. People who do that usually drink light beer, which is practically water anyways
so might as well ice it.

Actually, I have plastic ice cubes and I have used that in a beer that needed a touch of cooling. It's nice because the ice cubes are dishwasher safe and after you clean them - toss them in the freezer and use them again. I hate watery drinks.

he asked if I thought it was weird and I didn't think so.

I do have an aunt who drinks beer out of a can with a straw. Now that's weird.

22. Several years ago I was stricken with Bell's Palsy
for about a month and it was a damn pain to drink anything without a straw. That is when I developed a love for Negra Modelo. My regular sized straws didn't get lost in the stubby NM bottles and I was able to happily forget my condition.

No more palsy but there is a 6 pack of Negra Modela in my fridge right now. I don't still use the straws, btw. My wife says they make me fart more.

more than usual, I mean.

26. In the Yucatan we had a kick-ass drink called a "michelada"....Mix
2 tsp Worchestshire, 2 tsp soy sauce, the juice of one lime with 12 ounces beer (Corona, Sol something light). Pour into a salt-rimmed glass filled with ice chips. We make them all the time and they're great-like a beer Bloody Mary.

There's not enough alcohol in it, adding ice will only make it worse.

28. No, That is a violation.
If you have some of those reusable ice cubes that won't water down the brew you can do it. Or you can get one of those freezer cups. Generally though if you just put the beers in your freezer for forty-five minutes or so you're good.

31. Yes
If it's not that cold and I want to drink it right away. Sometimes I'll put it in the freezer for awhile to get really cold. I keep mugs in the freezer too. I like cold drinks to be really cold and hot drinks really hot.

32. Only in Scotland in a Chinese restaurant
Yep. They knew Americans liked their beer cold. Yeck.

I once froze a can of beer unintentionally. Put one in the freezer, went out for a walk while it chilled and got lost in the woods for hours. When I finally got back I "drank" the damned thing whether or no since it was Georgia and there were no package stores around. Beer slurpies—yuk.
