Y'know, The Watchmen was way ahead of its time
Edited on Tue Sep-06-11 08:06 PM by Taverner
When I first saw it, I thought it was OK

But in repeated viewings it has shown itself to be a serious commentary on today

I don't know how some got a Right Wing Interpretation of this movie

It's anti-faascist at its core

IN fact, when it came out in 2009, it was still too early

1. It's a subtle, thinker's movie.
I know few subtle people, and even fewer thinkers.

2. Every time I watch it I feel like I'm peeling away a layer.
I found a companion video at Borders a couple weeks ago (had some gift cards to cash in): The Black Freighter/Under the Hood. Maybe this stuff was included in the high-end Watchmen DVD-- I got the basic version-- but it sheds a lot of light on the back stories.

5. It's the only graphic novel I have ever read
And I loved the movie. I still need to get that fancy DVD with the Black Freighter thing on it. That was a cool part of the book.

4. It was more in response to Reagan & Thatcher
when it was original written in the mid 80s.
