Do texts work on a regular cell phone? I've never texted.

1. All I've ever had is regular cell phones ('flip-phones'), and I text all the time.

Did you mean regular as opposed to "smart phones"?

2. You have to have the text service enabled by your cell carrier.

Almost all new phones ("smart" or otherwise) have the ability to send/receive text message if the service is enabled. If the phone is more than about 5 years old it might not have that capability.

You can even send and recieve text messages to email.addresses, but in tne case of older basic phones, may be limited by a small number of characters. 135 on my old phone. Like using twitter, I.think.;)
