1. They may still use the Romulan calendar:
Martius, Aprilis, Maius, Iunius, Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November,
December

2. Actually, that makes an odd sense.
They charge dues based on the calendar year...so if you join in March, you pay the exact same amount as if you join in January...and you have to re-up the following January. (One of the professional societies I'm a member of from years back when I was in NPO PR and Development is run the same way.)

So, assuming they sent that in March...if you rejoined, you'd have membership through the end of the calendar year...at half-price. You're still getting screwed because you're only getting 10 months of membership rather than a full year, but you are paying half as much,

3. yeah but a true half price deal
would be 12 months for the price of six, not ten months.

4. But you're getting the entire calendar year...
you're paying half the price everybody else is for 2011.

I mean I get it and it's dumb...I never understood the people that join calendar-year-delineated professional societies in the fall; they pay for the full year and get 3 months.

They're not defining the year as 12 months, they're defining it as the remainder of time between now and Dec. 31.

You can pay full-price for that time frame or half-price for that time frame...but you can't have a 12-month membership.
