Who here doesn't like the new MLK memorial? I hate it when they
have a sculpture half in/out of the stone. It looks unfinished to me. I wish they'd given MLK a building like the Lincoln Memorial. Anyone else?

1. Yeah, it makes me feel like they didn't know how to finish it or something.

4. I like it.
The unfinished part shows that King is the Stone Of Hope that has emerged from the Mountain Of Despair behind him. (All references to one of King's speeches.)

And remember that he was only 39 yrs old when he was murdered. The unfinished look might represent his unfinished mission and a life too short.

7. The work he began is also unfinished.
He was gone before "we" had a chance to know him.

That may be part of the the statement.

9. Wow, It looks just like Mel Gibson.
And is that real cast-concrete? They went all out, didn't they? It looks like some sort of lawn ornament or a shitty early 20th c. tomb-marker.

(I'm guessing this really is someone's lawn ornament or gaudy personal shrine to a mediocre film...if that's really the William Wallace monument, I'm going to have to take a lot more pride in the role of my clan-ancestors in his demise. That's an embarrassment to Scots everywhere.)

17. No it's real! It's in Stirling or Edinburgh, I forget which.
It's located outside the Wallace Memorial. They said a disable man spent years sculpting it so they felt obligated to display it. It's butt ugly tho.

14. The severed head is cool, but how did he sever it with that ball/chain weapon?
Shouldn't it be a smushed head instead?

16. There you have it. No matter how arcane the question, it's a near-given that a DUer
will have the expertise to provide a reasonable and almost certainly correct answer. Thanks! :)

(Damn, that was a cool game. Right up there with Hungry Hungry Hippos in my formative years...)
