Ever been out in nature and discovered something cool? I went

hiking up a mountain behind our cottage with a few people when I was about 15. We knew there was a mountain bluff at the top with at least one cross standing tall (my brother and my cousin discovered it when they were 8 year olds and promptly got down on their knees and prayed to the cross because they were so overawed (not even catholics)). But we had never looked behind the bluff, deeper in the woods. We found a lake. I'm pretty sure nobody else had seen that lake. It was made by beaver dams so it may not have even been very old. But a discovery it was. We commemorated it by taking a huge piece of tree fungus and writing all our names on it and placing it on the mantelpiece.

1. My path to the college was through the woods. One morning I saw a Destroying Angel.

It was back-lit by the sun. Prettiest damn thing I'd ever seen but I knew what it was immediately. Didn't have a camera with me.
