A little bit of good news.
I just saw AlienGirl's thread about terminal cancer, and I thought I'd post something a little happier.

My wife is also terminally ill, and has been off of chemo for three months. She has brain cancer, and took an oral chemo for 18 months. Today she had her first post-chemo MRI, and it showed the cancer is stable. No change from her last MRI

I know that doesn't sound as earth-shaking as you might want. We all look for unrealistic stories of miraculous remissions and cures. Cancer isn't really like that, and when the disease in not curable, "stable" is really good news.

I'd like to think that no one would see new cancer growth this soon after treatment (3 months), but I've read stories of people who have new growth almost right after treatment, so I feel that we're very lucky for now.

We celebrated by having lunch at a very disappointing restaurant, and then buying new eyeglasses. How we've missed having a boring life.

Your last sentence really puts things in perspective. Boring isn't so bad when you have each other. :pals:

Wishing you many boring, high-quality days ahead. :toast:
