NYC DUers - need some directions from the Major Deegan
My wife is going to be coming over the GW Bridge tomorrow - she normally heads north on 87 (Major Deegan)

However, instead of going to 684 until it hits 84, she is going to want to get onto the Hutchinson River Parkway into CT instead.

I believe the best option for her is to take the Cross County Expressway from the Major Deegan - does the Cross County run all the way to the Hutch? I think it does, but I'm not sure.

Google maps is kind of confusing me, as I can't tell if the Cross County flows right into the Hutch, or if she'd need to exit off the Cross County to get onto the Hutchinson north.

Thanks

2. It's been years since I was that way, but it looks like it ends...
at the Hutch and she will just kinda end up on it.

But, why not just stay on the Cross Bronx and get on the Hutch that way? Traffic on a Friday will probably suck no matter what she does. Or, there's the Tappan Zee (or the Deegan) to 287 that will get to the Hutch. I used to do that when the GW was clogged.

(Note that signage in the Bronx and lower Westchester often leaves much to be desired-- she could end up on 95 all the way to 287 and get on the Hutch from there)

3. The Cross County does go eastward towards the Hutch. . .

but she should keep to the right and follow the signs for the NORTHBOUND Hutch. As it goes north and crosses Route 287, it eventually becomes the Merritt Parkway when it goes into CT.

PM me if you want further info.

4. Depending on how far west in NJ, there are other alternatives. She could
take 287 north and then back down over the tappan zee and down to the Saw Mill, 684, the Merritt, or 95. Not sure which way you are going in CT.
