When I went out to go to the store this afternoon, the landscaping company our condo property management firm uses was working on the huge old English oak tree in our yard. The tree is over 200 years old, but not nearly as sturdy as it looks. The landscaping company removed quite a bit of old dead wood from it today, and lately it seems that every time we have a storm more limbs, sometimes pretty big ones, break off. Carpenter ants and other insects have been chewing on it for years; and squirrels, chipmunks, and possibly racoons have been burrowing around the base lately. The landscape guys said they would be talking to the management company about the trees's future. I'm glad I'm moving shortly, so I won't have to see it if it goes. :(

1. (((old oak)))
wow what a long life it's had.. so many animals must have lived in it.
I have a thing for old trees. But I guess it's alright if it's time for it to go, I mean if it's turning into a mess.. It is still very sad.

Take a lot of pictures of it.

4. The front-yard ones were the goners, but, well, I wasn't home, you know how that can go.
