Hubby just bought me Kindle...
tell me everything I need to know. :-)

I've already downloaded one book, but still trying to figure it out.

Nothing fancy just the basic one. I was so surprised!

1. Lucky you!
Amazon.com has a lot of free books for download and you can also sample the first chapter of books for sale (if I remember correctly)

Enjoy it!

checking out free books and the kindle store...so many for so little...almost as good as the used book store.

5. Yawp. I don't have a kindle, but I have the online version
so I can get the same deal. It was fun searching through all the cool freebies.

3. i have almost 300 books and spent no more than 40. i would say way less.
be sure to keep eye on the free books. .99 books, i make sure they are full stories, 4 1/2-5 stars and at least ten reviews.

tell me what kind of books you like, i may be able to point yout o some good, cheap books.

and have fun

i love mine

4. Yes, I'm looking at the free...
and lower priced books. It's almost like going to a used book store, yard sales, and such.

I love all types of books...spy espionage, murder mystery, paranormal--vampires and such are my guilty pleasure. The only think I don't really like is romance...I don't mind if it's a sub plot, but I don't want it to be the main story.

I think I'm going to like mine too.

Though I won't give up the used book stores..that's how I try new authors...that way if I don't like it doesn't cost too much.

7. As Lucinda said, you can also download your Kindle books into your 'puter.
Very handy for books with illustrations and maps.

If you're going to take your Kindle everywhere and you will, recommend one of those padded carrying cases.

If you want to get really crazy, check out the Decalgirl's Kindle skins. Bet you can't buy just one.

8. You can get my book for $1.00 - "The Goblin of Booker Forest".
Targeted at middle school age kids but it seems to be a good read for adults too.

9. Be sure to check the Kindle Daily Post in the Kindle Store
It often has links to new books coming out and sometimes has links to books by the same authors for much lower than their normal prices. I've gotten some recent books for as little as 99 cents--I figure that even if I don't like them that much they're only a buck. It's also been a good way to discover some authors I might not have known about otherwise.

I have the BUILT neoprene Kindle sleeve for mine, though it looks as if Amaon doesn't sell the black one anymore. :(

10. Get Calibre
Available here

It's extremely useful for doing your own conversions of books from sites like Project Gutenburg
