I'm worried about my cat
She is a 13 year old Egyptian Mau named Baby and I think she is starting to fail:cry:

1. Sorry to hear that,
but what does the vet think is wrong? 13 isn't all that old for a cat in most cases; maybe something can be done. I sure hope so, I hate to hear about sick kitties.

2. we haven't taken her yet
She just started feeling bad last night and we want to make sure it's not just her having a bad day.

3. Would probably be a good idea to take her in as soon as you can.
Small animals can get very sick very fast (they can also recover very fast), and cats tend to mask their illness for as long as they can (so predators won't know they're sick). It might not be anything serious at all, but it's best to have her looked at to be sure.

Let us know how she is.

15. I can't count how many times I called the vet even just for peace of mind
It's because we love our fur babies so damn much. Baby is a lucky kitty to have you caring for and loving her. :hugs:

Sending good vibes to you and Baby.

6. Is she still eating, at least?
And, eliminating? If so, always a very encouraging sign.

20. Milk is bad for cats.
It gives them the runs and cause bleeding in the intestines. If she's not eating well try kitten food (it's great for fattening up ailing senior cats, in my experience) or pureed meat baby food if she won't eat anything else. You should take her to the vet but that'll keep her eating in the mean time.

It's always unsettling when our furry ones aren't feeling well, I know and so many here do too.

Let us know!

14. Next time you bring her to the vet
you might have her bloodwork checked if you've never had it done before. It's expensive but you can learn alot from that. Recently I brought my cat in for his annual check-up and the vet didn't like the sound of his lungs so she gave him an antibiotic shot for it. I brought him back for a followup visit and decided to get his teeth cleaned that week too. While he was there they did an xray and it turned out that he probably had pneumonia so now I have to bring him back again in a few days for another xray to see if the antibiotics he's been on for the teeth cleaning cleared up the rest of his pneumonia. Anyway, I was glad I decided to get his teeth cleaned and that they did the xray because otherwise we wouldn't have known about the pneumonia. I had noticed that my kitty had been more lethargic this summer, i.e., sleeping much more than usual. He has been getting better since the first vet visit and has been continuing to improve and become more active.
Hopefully your kitty just has a virus and is already on the mend.

19. Another Baby update
She is feeling much better and pretty much back to her normal self. I was so worried because she has never been sick before.

Might want to ask the vet's office about the milk.
I have often heard that cats shouldn't have it. I don't give it to mine. Will she eat regular cat food?
