What is your favourite source of information? I used to like newspapers and magazines more than I do
now. I would say that underneath it all, and through the years, I've loved primary information. I love it when a first person account is told. There are so many details in that that are lost when the story is then published. I had a grandmother who would tell stories: as a country doctor's wife back in the 1930s she had lots of stories to tell. Primary information is one of the reasons why I love the DU so much. Everyone here is giving a first hand account of what it is like to live in a burgeoning plutocracy. It is living history.

1. I never thought of it that way.
DU as a primary source. You see DU as a sort of oral history.

I still like magazines, like The Nation and Rolling Stone. I like local newspapers, too. It is the larger newspapers and the television news that suck. And those two things are the way most Americans get their information. Those two things are the most compromised these days.

2. When I was growing up
I relied heavily on Mad Magazine, Classics Illustrated (comic books), and Time Magazine.

Now, it's various books and the internet.

3. DU mostly.
Newspapers and cable news to a lesser extent.

I learn so much on DU, nothing else can compare.

4. Wikipedia is where I usually start.
If I can't find something on Wikipedia, or if I want more details, then I switch to Google Advanced Search.

For movies and TV shows, I start with IMDB.

For news, I often start with LBN on DU.

5. I rely completely on thunder.
Look it up in my brontologion and I'm good to go. So much less messy than the old methods.
