How many will be seeing the new Planet Ape movie?
Planet of the Apes movies have always creeped me out (even worse than cat eyes) and I've never been able to sit all the way through one. I guess I should probably talk to my therapist about that.

1. Enjoyed the original. Read Boulez's book. Hated Burton's lame attempt.
Not interested in rewarding an intellectually bankrupt film industry.

5. Do you suppose it goes with a nice Cab?
I can probably go it with a few glasses of wine and then leaving the lights one when I go to bed.

20. who was in the mars ship?
i saw it and in fact predicted it to our group before the movie but it went by so fast i couldnt see who was in the ship
did you catch if it was wahlberg or heston?
i also liked the turn of storyline where taylor is in fact wrong in his assumption as to what "destroyed" the world as he knew it
a combo of superapes and deadly virus is much more believeable than an interspecies war
i myself found it a very good film and i am the biggest planet freak ever

21. I also agree with how our species "lost"
Only seeing the trailers, I couldn't imagine super smart apes in San Francisco actually conquering the world. I thought the movie could just end with the apes crossing the Golden Gate bridge and suddenly facing a couple tanks and some humvee's with .50 cal machine guns.

Actually, the movie still could've ended that way, but with the virus now rampaging through the human species, the apes would eventually win out just by hiding.

11. Looks good
According to Rotten Tomatoes:
81% fresh according to the critics and 90% fresh according to the audience.

Genetically engineering chimps reminds me of David Brin's Uplift saga...

Chimpanzees are the first clients of Humans and are the most "complete" in that they are closest to full sapiency. They are Stage 2 clients but almost became Stage 3 when the Gubru invaded Garth. Neo-Chimpanzees like music, specifically percussion. They are embarrassed by situations which remind them of their earlier status as "smart animals", especially about nudity, tree-climbing and above all losing their ability to speak when under stress.

15. I absolutely plan to see it.
I loved those movies (and the TV series) when I was a kid. I hear this one is very good and that you actually end up rooting for the apes!

18. I saw it opening night
As far as Summer Blockbusters go, this one was definitely a cut above the rest. Andy Serkis is great as Ceaser and the people who did the special effects have to be nominated for awards.

I do love how it sets up the original Planet of the Apes with the SPOILER: (Spaceship getting lost on its way to Mars.)
