Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

Methinks they're running the franchise into the ground. I mean, how many reboots/renewals/revivals have there been?

# 1989: Batman
# 1992: Batman Returns
# 1993: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (animated)
# 1995: Batman Forever
# 1997: Batman & Robin
# 2005: Batman Begins
# 2008: The Dark Knight
# 2012: The Dark Knight Rises

1. Actually, the last three movies in your list are part of the same reboot...
which came eight full years after the worst Batman movie ever made.

I'll admit that this picture looks rather dopey, but I still have faith in Christopher Nolan. I'm just an optimistic guy.

3. and Clooney was the third Batman in six years
fourth if you count Kevin Conroy. At least they've settled into some continuity with Bale.

2. I loved the first two Chris Nolan films
I'm looking forward to this. I happen to really like Anne Hathaway and think she might surprise us.

4. I wasn't as big a fan of the Dark Knight as most
I thought it was unrelentingly bleak and depressing, and it took itself far more seriously than it should have. I found it interesting but unpleasant. I've only seen that movie once, and I've probably watched Batman Begins half a dozen times.

But I find the second films of trilogies often are more bleak (e.g., The Empire Strikes Back), so I'm willing to give TDK a pass, and I look forward to the next movie.
