Screw Harry Potter! Those flicks should be about the instructors!

Think about the veteran actors assembled for the Harry Potter movies:

Michael Gambon
Alan Rickman
Maggie Smith
Gary Oldman
Robbie Coltrane
Emma Thompson
Brendon Gleeson


Now why in the name of God would I want to see these gods and goddesses sidelined by three little twerps?

1. Well

Those are all fine actors and actresses. But they were all teen aged at one point as well. Given that the stories are about school-aged children, I think its a bit of a stretch for Mike Gambon or Emma Thompson to play 16 year olds any more.

Besides, the actor who plays Hermoine is quite good and I recently saw the actor that plays Harry on Broadway and he was also quite talented. I think its great for young actors to have the opportunity to work with masters of the craft like Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman. I wish more young actors were given this chance. Perhaps we would have less actors line Lindsay Lohan out there and more young actors giving Broadway a shot when they were in between films.
