How do you capture an image of a whole web page?

It's a long page with embedded images.

I tried saving to PDF and it didn't work out.

Any other thoughts?

1. I just do CTRL + PRTSC

and paste it to Word. Works great.

but it's only giving me what's literally on the screen.

If I did that it would be like 10 images instead of just one.

4. If you truly want to save it as an image

then you must take individual screenshots and paste them together in a graphics program.

However, if you use "save as" and "web site" or whatever the terminology is for your browser, it will save the html and put all the various embedded images into folders so that you can effectively recreate the page offline. However, there are caveats, of course, dependong on what content is there, it may not all save correctly.

I prefer do to the screenshots and just paste them all together if I just want a static image of the page.

Fireshot screenshot tool works great. Gets the whole page and makes a jpg. Google it.

There is an extension called Awesome Screenshot. You could try that.

8. Update:

I got a screencapture with Webpage Screenshot, but it's tiny. I can zoom in and the text is crisp and legible, but when I try to upload the image, the text becomes illegible.

I am at wits end here. :cry:

14. I assume then that the host to which you are uploading the image is resizing it.

Turn off that "feature" and the pix should remain the same size as it is on your hard drive.

9. There is a Safari Extension

called "Awesome Screenshots".

Here is its description from the Safari Extensions Gallery:

"Awesome Screenshot lets you capture, annotate, and share screenshots with a click. You can crop, show area dimensions, annotate with shapes and text, and blur your screenshot. You can even choose to capture the entire web page. Then upload your screenshot to share it."

Go to the drop down menu. Under "Safari" click on Safari Extensions. Look for Awesome Screenshots, download and install. You may have to restart Safari to get the extension running.

The image that's captured is really small, and I don't know how to save a larger copy for uploading. :(
