Dear Cats - I have no desire to be in the same room with you when you use your litter box
In fact, I think I do a good job of giving you privacy when it's time to go.

So please, please PLEASE do me a favor - STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BATHROOM WHEN I'M USING IT and that includes not SNIFFING me when I'm on the toilet

Thank you!

1. No human may occupy a bathroom unless

accompanied by at least one cat. This is mandatory. It is also highly recommended that any activity undertaken by said human while he/she is occupying the bathroom be closely monitored by a cat at all times.

It's a cat thing. You wouldn't understand.

5. It could be worse...
We had a cat who was determined to find out what was happening when my hubby and I were... you know... in flagrante delicto.

6. It could be a lot worse. My friend Carlos was taking care of business as his cat sat on the vanity
watching him. When Carlos jiggled Pedro (that's what he called it) to remove any excess moisture, the cat attacked scratching Pedro and Carlos' thighs as it fell into the toilet. The cat escaped with nothing more than wet stinky fur. Pedro wasn't as fortunate suffering severe lacerations resulting in an infection, swelling and an aversion to even the tenderest touch.

7. Reminds me of this wonderful hunting dog my son had as a kid. She was really terrific and they were
Inseparable, went everywhere together and all of that. Saved him from rattlesnakes, slept by his bed, stuff like that.

Whe he was a little kid sometimes he'd get dressed in the morning in the living room and one day his 'pedro' was swinging a little and she thought she'd bite that, thought it wasn't him, I guess.

Fortunately I intervened on the behalf of possible future generations. It was a close shave, though.

11. And with that story
Edited on Wed Jul-20-11 01:02 PM by quakerboy
my determination that the cat that I eventually hope to have join my life shall not have free reign is increased yet more.

Despite what ya'll cat fanciers propagate, cats can be trained. I have done it, I have taught others to do it. I am not owned by people, nor shall I be owned by felines.

Edited to complete my first sentance. Apparently I got ahead of myself.

8. Both of the cats I have had
and many of those kept by friends, apparently feel that feline supervision of humans in the bathroom is a part of their purpose on this planet. What evolutionary imperative is responsible for this remains shrouded in mystery.

10. I've never met a cat that didn't want to follow me into the bathroom.
I don't even try anymore. The scratching and the whining isn't worth it. And its kinda entertaining to watch the cat who decided they MUST be with me, suddenly decide they must try to open the door that was just shut behind them. ROFL. Cats know how to open doors, I've learned, they just can't get their paws to do it, much of the time...

12. I really don't have an issue with the 'following into the bathroom'
that's their choice

But the boy cat just wants to put his nose somewhere that well, decent people would never do anything like that!

17. Don't worry about that. Cats are sneaky. They'll post details online to embarrass you at LOLcats.
