2. Irving, TX
97°F feels like 101°F
36% humidity (Only) We got a little rain last night for the first time in 7 weeks, so it's not 87% humidity anymore, yet

I've done Sheboygan in July before. I know it gets oppressive. Drink water and stay indoors.

3. It's only 84 degrees here with just 45% humidity!
It's gorgeous, like early Fall almost. I went out and pruned some bush's, mowed the lawn and cleaned up the flower beds out front and watered everything. Then we took my dog over to Island Ford and went swimming and hiked a bit.

September in July! Unheard of in Ga. I'm gonna grill some burgers in a little while.

4. It's light, but no sunbreaks like yesterday. My forecast as follows:
'Temperature 58. Feels like 58. Raining now.

Through 5pm: Rain, becoming more intermittent by 4pm. Cloudy with temperatures rising to near 67F.

Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.'

I lived half my life in the sauna. I didn't know there was much of anything else until I traveled more. You guys stay cool.

Let's see; Feb, March, April, May, June; must be about 165 consecutive days of rain and overcast now. Biblical.

I live in the East Bay Area (San Francisco Bay) and it is usually in the 90s to 100s in july. It's been in the 70s this week and probably next week too. I'm not complaining but it is strange.

40. High 90's or over 100
seems like forever
Mr 'pede has determined it will never rain here ever agin....

I was in Ames for 6 weeks in the summer of '64
Mommie D was taking two classes at Iowa State
We lived at a place a couple of blocks west of campus, looked like an old house chopped up into apts
Nice old lady lived on first floor, we were on 2nd (along with the tenant that was never seen), newlyweds on three (lots of strange noises from up there, what could that have been?)
I entertained myself by walking around campus, reading or going to flicks at the movie house south of campus
We all went to the 4th July fireworks show together - minus mystery tenant

42. Ames is a nice city
I've been very impressed, moved here from the DC area and it's been a bit of a culture shock but pleasantly so. Population 50,000 but half of it is ISU students, so a very liberal and cool atmosphere. People are nice, when they say "Have a nice day" as you're checking out at the grocery store, they really mean it. Traffic is almost non-existent (I was used to Capitol Beltway traffic; you can see how strange this is to me now), and you can leave your vehicle unlocked.

But oh my goodness, it is freaking HOT.

25. Corpus Christi, TX
Taken from the Naval Air Station monitor about 1 mile from my house at 5 pm:

90, with a heat index of 99, 59% humidity, mostly cloudy (thank dog.)

Strangely enough, I dislike the nights more. We can go for a month with the temp never dropping below 78 and humidity of 90% at night. We run our AC more to fight the humidity than the heat. We're going to the hill country next week, still blazing hot in the daytime, but it's wonderful at night, so cool, so DRY.

27. Hotter than heck in MA. Just heard the forecast. end of the week,
record breaking heat due. This is the weirdest summer that I can remember. No outside work possible. Minimum air conditioning here. Just bought an air conditioner for my den. I will be sleeping on the couch for a while.
My poor kitty cannot understand why I will not let her upstairs. It is 96 degrees on the second floor.
Can't even breathe up there. The air quality is bad, in addition to the heat. I can't remember an early summer like this and I am an old timer.

Tomorrow it is predicted to be in the 90s. We had a brief respite from the heat over the weekend as there were several rainstorms. But it is not lasting long because the heat is coming back.

36. Yeah, really!
The humidity on that is way too low! Bump it up another 16% and you'll be fine :D

:hi: from Houston

84.1°F
Current: Scattered Clouds
Wind: 0 mph
Humidity: 71%

A little on the dry side, but when the breeze picks up, it blows over the field next door, giving us a little more cooling humidity.
