Anyone here ever been to The Waterfalls of Havuspai?
http://www.havasupaitribe.com/waterfalls.html

Excited about this. We have two nights here, along with two nights in the canyon floor of Grand Canyon national park. And a few nights of rim camping.

My BF's brother learned of our trip and thought we should make Vegas the focus of our trip and just see the Grand Canyon for maybe a day trip or an over night at most.

Brothers can be very different from ea other.

We will do Vegas for a night or two instead. Cirque de Solei and Penn and Teller might be fun.

1. I've been to Arizona but not to that area
I would love to swim in the waterfall pools and camping there and at the Grand Canyon sounds great, even a night or two in Las Vegas- Cirque de Soleil and Penn and Teller would be fun.

Will you go to this?- my hands get sweaty just looking at the photo...

6. We were thinking about it but probably not.
It costs something like thirty or forty dollars to do that. It's on Hualapai land and is privately owned by them. You can include the walk in a package deal if you stay in one of their lodges though. And the lodge stay prices actually weren't expensive at all. Not even taking the location into account.

"A room that overlooks the Grand Canyon? Are you kidding me? You're only charging that?"

2. We're talking about this place, right?

I was there in the 70s. It was like a part of Disneyland. Very other worldly. The night sky there is just undescribable in its beauty. Washes over you like the ocean.

3. yes. Thats the place.
It's so beautiful. We were actually the very first people booking a place to camp down there this October. Yes. The very first people booking for the MONTH of October. And they barely charge anything.

4. October is beautiful there.
Tourists are gone for the most part. Still warm. Not blazing.

5. We're very excited about it.
I don't recall ever hearing about Havuspai until I started planning this trip. There was a section on the falls and village in a guidebook I was reading.

It's so stunningly blue it almost doesn't look real.

And we're going to take the helicopter ride. $80 each way really isn't a bad deal at all. Especially considering the time difference factor. At least 4 hours of driving each way? Not to mention that the helicopter journey itself will probably be some of the most stunning moments of our life.
