I have not posted her for quite a while, but just want to get an opinion on my method for dealing with cats in my yard, I have lots of bird feeders and love watching them but the feral cats seem to congregate here. I have been belling the cats I can catch but just wondered if this seems reasonable?
8. Would a fence in a circle around the feeder(s) work?
Doesn't have to be concrete...just something that would force the cat to gather itself and leap over it to get to the birds.on the ground.....maybe a 5-6 foot diameter circle of a 3 foot fence on the ground around each feeder. The big movement might alert the birdies to take off... Just a thought. I'm pretty sure cats can figure out how to walk and stalk without jingling their bells, if you get my drift.
9. If you can get close enough to put bells on some of these cats, please consider finding a local
feral rescue group and work with them to give these cats better lives. Some of the cats will never let you near them but the ones who still trust humans really deserve a chance at a new home.
