"That Girl Could Sing" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddvJGDwOGj0

Although technically you could say that according to the Gregorian calendar, 1980 was part of the Seventies, so:

"For America" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db2UyEigI6o

"we're gonna reap what we have sown..."

4. There are some things you can learn from songs.
Edited on Wed Jun-29-11 04:21 AM by RandomThoughts
Specifically how many have the doctrine of 'no shame' in the context of not caring, not thinking and feeling from conscious. It is what Keanu Reeves goes against in the movie Devils Advocate. Not that good of a doctrine in my view.

Note their is the same 'do anything' in this song. Same thing in the song about being famous in the other songs. Although there are ways to handle fame, and some even get fame without 'doing anything, or following orders'

However the song does teach many things and good he got the song out.

Garth Brooks - Shameless
http://www.veoh.com/watch/v20712890qKqhN6Zp

And I am not saying he is wrong, maybe he is right, not for me to judge.
Garth Brooks - Friends In Low Places
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1063893612084739337#

"Toasted" :)

I have friends in low places also, but they don't tell me I am wrong, then again they don't 'tell' me much, although conversations are not about 'telling' but about sharing, and I think it is better to heal.

Then again I never much liked champagne, nor do I complain.
I am however due beer and travel money. And like big scenes :)

Then again, I got nothing to lose, and don't leave either. So maybe it is different for different people. Although I bet he has more beer and travel money then he needs.

I however respect Bruce and his choice of films to be in, and the stories he tells in them.
Jessica Alba - Sin City Bar Scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfpKjRitYdE

Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5JkHBC5lDs

Bonnie Raitt - I Can't Make You Love Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW9Cu6GYqxo

Bonnie Raitt - Nick Of Time
http://www.123video.nl/playvideos.asp?MovieID=407128

Dire Straits - Walk of Life
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZxVC0GB838

Constantine - Bring me to life (Evanescence)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx8d3K_hngw

And I am still standing.

5. Sowing the Seeds of Love, by Tears For Fears
high time we made a stand
that shook up the views of the common man
and the love train rides from coast to coast
every minute of every hour
I love a sunflower
and I believe in love power

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbvxALFWvHs

an end to need
and the politics of greed
with love

6. Big Time, by Peter Gabriel
The place where I come from is a small town.
They think so small, they use small words.
But not me! I'm smarter than that! I've worked it out
I'll be stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out.

I've had enough! I'm getting out! To the city, the big big city.
I'll be a big noise with all the big boys, so much stuff I will own
And I will pray to a Big God, as I kneel in my Big Church.

11. A great 80s song and a great Bond theme
Duran Duran - A View To A Kill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp4CR2HcHLQ

One of the few places where Simon LeBon's histrionics were appropriate. The slinky, sinuous keyboards and John Taylor's thundering bass guitar really carry the song. The excellence of the theme does nothing to make the creaking Roger Moore's performance in the film any better, though.:)

23. Texas Flood - Stevie Ray Vaughn, 1983
I remember the first time I ever heard this tune when it had just been released. I was in Pismo Beach and walked into a record store to kill some time. This came on as I was milling around and I just stood there with my jaw on the floor. As soon as it ended I ran up to the counter and asked who it was. The kid says "some guy named Stevie Ray somebody". I bought a copy took it home and proceeded to wear it out on the turntable. Blues masterpiece.
