This gawker post about 'Go the F*ck to Sleep' nearly killed me
I choked hard on my coffee while reading it. The comments alone are deadly.

This is so ridiculous. I am a loving parent who loves children and 'Go the Fuck to Sleep' is hilarious and not demeaning to children who DO lie about being thirsty and need to go the fuck to sleep.

Comments are great.

Edit: Karen Spears Zacharias is ridiculous.

2. I guess one has to be a grownup to be able to understand
that book. Imagine if that book was really about tree frogs or neighbors who shoot fire crackers until 3 am... *shudder*

I love go the f*ck to sleep.

4. I want to see the sequel about Mz Zacharias, "Shut the F**K up!"
I was in hysterics at the comments!

It's no secret I'm a therapist, and I think the book is fabulous. Parenting is the toughest job anywhere and a sense of humor is one of the most vital parts of enjoying it. Who hasn't thought this? The book is loving and frustrated and real. And though you certainly don't read this to the kids, pretending they, and you, are supposed to be perfect just sets them up for being resentful of an imperfect world.
