I need some help with a new wide-screen TV.

I just bought (got $200 off the price,) a Coby TFT LCD Widescreen Television.

It's the TFTV 2625S2 model.

The problem is the sound is cruddy.

Is there a way to improve it?

1. External speaker system maybe

2. Are all of the sound settings equally bad?

My Samsung has 5 sound modes plus an Equalizer. If you can't gey decent sound on any setting return the set.

3. TV speakers usually suck

if it has an rca audio out or a headphone jack you could hook up a pair of computer speakers to see if that sounds better. Not all computer speakers have rca in but for a few dollars you can get an adaptor

That's one way out of spending a bunch of money on a surround system
