Serious Weiner Question

Hope this post isn't too much of a let down, so to speak . . .

But I'm having trouble understanding the Puritanical furor over what I've seen/read, and wonder if I'm missing something.

Help me out. What's the WORST thing you've seen, that's true? (I.e., I understand there was an allegation that he sent something prurient to a minor, but that that's been disproved?)

E.g., what's the worst photo? Or action? Did he break any law? Or whatever? Pls provide a link -- I have NOT been following this story and am trying to figure out what, if anything, I've missed that would make sense of the furor.

1. I haven't seen anything that indicates he broke any laws. The DE 17-year old was disproved.

There was an exchange, but it was in no way sexual and the Delaware police didn't take very long do determine that - the case has been closed.

2. A weiner is not supposed to be endowed. THAT is the problem.

People were checking out the photos for comparison sake and went away weeping and are now expressing their feigned disgust.

But his constituents love their Weiner and that is all that matters.

As I have stated elsewhere, when Republicans try to capitalize on Democrat weiner issues, they lose in popularity as their own acceptance of dirty Republicans gets exposed. Clinton's popularity soared after Monica.

After a while all the folks who have actually seen a weiner will calm down and go after the lights out, missionary only crowd.

The worst I've seen is a 46 year old with the judgement and impulse control of a 13 year old.

5. If it affects his performance of his dayjob, I care. But haven't seen evidence that it does.

And saying it affects it by discrediting him with sexual puritans gives ground to the latter that I refuse to cede.

7. I guess that's true if you think that his job only consists of casting votes in the House.

Part of his job is also to persuade other Congressmen to support his constituent's agenda.

Hard to do when he's giving an impassioned speech on the floor and his colleagues are thinking, "that's the guy who gets off on emailing his dick".

6. the furor is due to Weiner being an outspoken democrat

and a corporate media whose job is to keep such people in line.
Worst thing i have seen is probably scenes from wars (eg Iraq) of children with missing limbs screaming in pain.

a mutilated corpse in pieces in a body bag. head was decapitated at helmet line and was thrown in the bag. motorcycle wreck.

their puritanical furor would be better used to stop war.

11. They were supposed to be private emails on twitter. I don't see why

this is a bigger deal than vitter. But somehow it is. So it needs to end somehow. I regret that A. Weiner may not be in congress. He was a good egg.
