**He got the laptop!**

I just got off the phone with MFM!

The laptop and its case arrived a little while ago!

He is tired from his (hopefully final) surgery yesterday to fix his sternum, and so he hasn't opened them yet...

He must be really tired!

But he was thrilled that they'd arrived, and he said he would have a look either tonight or over the weekend, when things aren't so busy.

He was so grateful to me, and everyone who has helped with this. He also asked me to tell everyone he said hello, and he's really looking forward to being back in touch!

8. DUers come through for others time and time again.

When my wife left me I was pretty much hanging out to dry, with two weeks to find a place and figure things out. A wonderfully kind DUer (who I first met by arguing with lol) sent me $1500 to cover my rent long enough to get my shit together. And that's not the only example. DainBramaged sent me a bunch of computer stuff just because he could. Like you say, DUers are just waiting for the opportunity to help someone directly, and they do so time and time again.

Well, it's like this.

MFM and I have been talking off and on, mostly off, for some months. During our conversations, he revealed that he didn't have a laptop, though it had long been a dream. Due to his circumstances, it was out of the question.

Well, I decided that he had to have one. So little by little, the word got out that I was going to get one for him...

Several kind people have been there helping me do that.

I placed the order several days ago...

And today, it arrived!
