2. 3d is a Gimmick
It's a gimmick - electronics companies have to come up with a new reason to get the consumer to buy their warmed over 1080p HD teevees. 3D is the latest gimmick... remember, they have stockholders they must answer to.

5. Nope, I'll just wait for 4-D
Truthfully, my eyes are so bad, the 3D effects make me dizzy. I even have trouble telling the difference between normal and HDTV (as such I don't have that either).

7. I have a 82 inch DLP 3D tv
it's huge... I play video games in 3D (Call of Duty: Black Ops) and love it. I also got Despicable Me in 3D when my niece and nephew came to visit. I love the 3D. I realize it's a gimmick and that was not the main reason I purchased the TV (the size, however, was :)) but I've enjoyed it.

The size of the TV makes the 3D effects even more enjoyable, I think.

I must also say that I love the DLP. Our other two TVs are both plasmas and look stunning (my husband is a TV aficionado and did a lot of research before purchasing).
