What do you think of Roger Waters wrapping up his 2011 European Tour
in a few weeks? Most likely his last tour ever unless he reunites with the other 2 members of Pink Floyd for just one last show.

1. I saw The Wall Anniversary concert last fall
and it was hands down the most amazing show I have seen in 35+ years of going to live rock concerts. Roger was in a mellow mood, clearly having a good time, and even chatted with the audience for a bit.

He's 67, his immense place in music history is secure, and if he wants to kick back and do an album every once in a while, he's earned the right to do so. People will be listening to the music he created, especially in PF, for a long, long time.

All in all, Roger's has been a life well lived.

3. I get the feeling that
he did this tour because he genuinely wanted to. Sort of a low-key victory lap/farewell/thank you, especially for the long-term fans. Dog knows he doesn't need the money; he was never a doper or a drinker who frittered anything away, and he has to have more cash than Midas even though he has always been quite the outspoken lefty.

I really think this was strictly for himself and the fans. Good on ya, Rog!

6. I would say it was the most amazing show ever up until they got to the "Trial"/side 4 of the album
then it kinda went downhill from there.

Don't get me wrong, it was an amazing concert but the end I thought he really could have gone to town with the visual displays but instead he kinda gave up, lip sync'd the songs and played the movie on the wall he had built. I thought he'd have some new stuff or at least bring out those giant puppets he had used earlier in the concert.

Don't get me wrong, the first 3/4ths of the concert was so freaking amazing that it totally made up for the end. Just wished he could have done a bit more to finish off the concert.

4. If this works outside the UK, you might like this: Waters on Desert Island Discs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011j39v/Desert_Island_Discs_Roger_Waters/

The programme has been going over 60 years; a celebrity is interviewed about their life, and they choose 8 pieces of music they'd want to have with them if marooned on a desert island (plus a book and a luxury item). Roger Waters was this week's guest.

9. ArnoldLayne! A true Pink Floyd fan.
I just bought a no-kill mousetrap and wanted to keep one in an aquarium and call him Gerrold. Would have loved to, but wild mice want to be free. I'm the only person in my flat who would get the reference.
