I'm okay, though the shoulder where the seatbelt tightened up is getting stiff. The delightful older woman with the creative hygiene who ran the red light because she was "blissed out" looking at the street sign - right next to the traffic signal, which was red, just like my car - can ram a red-hot poker up her sphincter, especially if she calls here again.

2. OK, the clean version was moderately amusing to read
Though I am sure it was not amusing to experience. But now I want the full, unexpurgated version, the rude pundit version.

Glad that you are not seriously injured. Rest that shoulder.

11. that is a CUTE little car!
what is it? I think it is a Nissan, right? I really like it, never seen one.

BUT...no way is that little crimp from a 40 MPH smack! If another vehicle hit you going that fast would have TOTALED that car! Trust me, I run into shit* out here all the time in the pick up and you could crumple your whole fender at 10, roll at 35 - if somebody clipped you at 40 it would have spun you around or knocked you across lanes.

* gates, brush, fenceposts - not cars in traffic or parking lots:o

12. It's a Nissan 350Z
It's a 2008; I've had it since it came off the boat in 2007; my first new car ever. Speed limit on that road is 40; she clipped me with her rim as I was in the middle of the turn and caught my bumper and quarter panel. My car has five-star roll-over rating and a pretty good overall safety ratings - and Brembo brakes - so I was able to keep from getting knocked into the other lane (I was in the middle lane of three). My brother has a much nicer version of the car that hit me; he says I'm lucky to be alive. A fraction of a second later, she'd have gone through my passenger door, and all my upgraded airbags wouldn't be much good against a full size sedan in my lap.

13. ah, so you were making a left?
ok I can see a clip at that kind of angle being at 40 - damn you WERE lucky she didn't completely broadside you - YIKES!

I want one of those. Used to have a Nissan pick-up - god we abused that thing, it was SUCH a good truck. I sure wish I could find another one. Or one of yours! I really likey.

4. ouch
calling is bad form, did ou tell her to contact your lawyer/insurance company?

that will probably bruise up nicely - be sure to take pix, and maybe get looked at by a physician to be safe? (you didn't give speed, but it really doesn't take much to do real damage)

6. She was going at least 40
I have really bad arthritis in both shoulders, and I'd just gotten cortisone injections in the one that's sore, but in different sites. This is more in the triceps, where the belt crosses.

When she called, she said she was the "girl" who hit me. Girl my ass - she's in her early 60s.

10. Make sure that the repair estimate
Includes a new seatbelt. And her insurance should, at a minimum, pay for some doctor visits and PT - 'cuz you'll be sore tomorrow.
In a 3-point belt, your upper body tends to twist at impact - which yanks your joints in directions they're not used to.

8. "Blissed out"??
I do not understand this term. Was she high, drunk, on some kinda meds??

"Blissed out" does not sound like an adequate reason for failing to notice a traffic signal.
