What is your favorite book of the last two decades? Me, "The Orchid Thief:"
by Susan Orlean. The author struggles to make an article on orchids interesting, then succeeds by digging into the personalities behind the obsession. I think I read it in one sitting. Fascinating!!

1. I'm not sure but I too loved The Orchid Thief.
I don't think I can pick one. But that book fascinated me and I actually bought a number of species of orchids and kept them well in an atrium I had in my bathroom at the time. I could see how they could become a passion. Now I'm back among the average folk who can't keep them well. But they are sexy, no doubt about it.

3. Orchids are easy - as long as you get species suited to your conditions
But I only have about 200.

5. The Dresden Files
I copped out--it's a series. But also Harry Potter. Now that Potter is finished, I can concentrate on the Dresden books.
