Just back from Geneva (dial-up warning)
Switzerland, not Illinois. Here are a few photos. Good morning, DU! I'm glad to be home! :hi:

View from my hotel window in Bursins, population 727, just outside of Geneva and overlooking Lac Léman (the Lake of Geneva). In the morning light, I could see Mont Blanc from the window.

On Tuesday evening, my friends took me to dinner at Le Chat Rouge, a cool little Mexican restaurant in downtown Geneva. After dinner: a drive along the promenade of Lac Léman; the jet of the lake fountain 40 meters high and lovely at night.

6 a.m., outside the little hotel where I stayed in Bursins

Field near Yverdon-les-Bains

1. Cool pics Heidi.
I love that first one, reminds me of the time I spent in Bavaria.

Glad you're back safe and sound. :loveya:

Thank you for looking at the photos, friend. They're crappy quality, but I don't travel with our Nikon gear -- just a first-generation iPhone and a jillion photography apps.

I'm glad I'm back safe and sound, too. I'm always glad to get home after two days of intense business travel to find that my two guys (CMW and Ginger) have taken good care of one another in my absence. :happy dance:

P.S. :*

3. Those are beautiful, my dear Heidi...
I don't care what kind of crappy phone you're using...you have the photographer's eye, and these pics prove it.

Welcome home, sweetie!

4. Thank you, Peggy!
I'm soooooooooooo very happy to be home. It was a good, productive and fun trip, but I missed my guys, our routine, and our bed. :)

5. Thanks for the tiny slide show, Heidi!
In the first pic, does the photo look old and funky around the edges because you used an app to make it that way, or was the window in the little hotel dirty? ;)
I thought it was taken from a train window, 'til I read your caption.

Did you get CMW his cars in Geneva?

Here's a website for you two-

6. Hi, marzipanni!
It's an app that gives that affect. I got CMW's toy cars at a place near Bern on the way home. :)

Nice to see you!

8. I was just down in Switzerland 2 days ago
I have a permanent guy in Geneva, and he is very capable (friendly native), so I rarely
go there myself. But even looking out over the Limmat on a clear afternoon seeing the snow-capped
Alps while munching down some Sprüngli Luxemburgerli is a very relaxing (if not exactly healthy LOL!!)
thing to do if you have a minute before having to rush off somewhere else.

14. Ha!
How about I just make crap up about various European destinations?

If you get to Geneva, you've GOT to have margaritas and Mexican food at Le Chat Rouge. There just something unique about having Mexican food at 10 p.m. among French-speaking people. (Or maybe the margaritas just made it _seem_ unique. )
