Your basic "In praise of DU thread"
I was at work tonight in my Pennsylvania retail store when I got word of the balckout. All of the news reports were vague and I could not figure out what was going on. I had so many questions that weren't being answered.

I have to say this: I REALLY missed DU. I knew that I could get better information here than anywhere else. I have no internet access at work, and I could not wait until 11:00 when I could log on and catch up with my friends.

Thanks once again to everyone on DU, just for being YOU. :-)

3. Hi Jitter
I need to go to bed but I've been wondering about our NY Friends.
I hope all is well with them soon and this blackout is behind us but I fear for the elderly and sick who may not have access to electrical power for their oxygen machines they need to breath with the heat and humidity being so high makes it difficult causing all kinds of problems for them. After caring for Grandma I know she could not survive without air, and I would have back up tanks ready when the power goes out and those tanks only last two to three hours depending on the numbers drawn.

That's the scary part about this the human cost.

Congress better get off their a** and do something,we have a bunch of useless repugs! And this should reflect on them and the president for allowing private business without regulations. Hit them where it hurts...kick those SOBs' out of office!

I sounded off...I would love seeing it happen!

Thanks friend for letting me vent!

Goodnight Jitter & Goodnight DU!
