Me, I simply don't "get" Big Bang Theory. I've seen about two dozen episodes and I can see where all the "jokes" are, but for the life of me I don't understand the fuss.

Yours?

1. Lost.
I know it's over, but it never began, IMO.

Oh, and even being a Sci-Fi fan going way back, I think "Firefly" sucked.

I tried more than once to watch..I just couldn't get into it.

Disagree on Firefly. I thought it was decent.

14. Agreed, agreed, and
not sure which show you're talking about on that last one. That show that I thought wasn't on anymore, Sex and the City? If so, agreed. Even if not, I will most likely still agree. :)

23. "sluts" is one hell of a loaded word, there

care to define the term? Men? Women? People who have lots of sex with a variety of different partners?

4. I watch Community, Modern Family. and The Simpsons
I know there are a few more good shows but I don't watch them.

I have tried to see the humor in 2 and a half men. Did not find any. Same for several other sitcoms. All seem so lame.

The entire CSI franchise makes me want to vomit. The L&O franchise is a caricature of itself.

I never have watched much in the way of reality shows or contest shows. They serve as a reminder just how stupid most people are.

I know someone of intelligence who tried to watch BB theory. He said it depicts smart people the same stupid way they have always depicted smart people.

I do also really enjoy The 3 Stooges reruns. At least I know I am watching something kind of dumb and actually they were clever compared to most of the sitcom crap.

But at least I don't have cable so i am not paying for shit.

5. Breaking Bad
The premise doesn't interest me in the least.

Oh--and I was anti-Sopranos when it was on. But then again, I'm against any entertainment that lets people "admire" the mob. Must be my Italian heritage and too many wide-eyed people asking me "Oooohhh is your family in the MAFIA????" when they find out my family's last name.

18. I love Big Bang Theory, just absolutely love it
I savor every moment, every line. Especially the Sheldon ones.

Maybe it's because everyone I know is like that, I identify.

like the underlying put downs. Not for me.

25. I hate Big Bang. Everyone told me I just had to watch it
since I am a science geek. I don't get it. Geek stereotypes, geeks with hot chicks (like that would EVER happen or they would even want the airhead chicks), stupid physics jokes. Ho hum.

22. I second your Big Bang Theory and raise you a Glee
Edited on Fri May-13-11 11:38 PM by WildEyedLiberal
BBT is just the same old stereotypical "nerd" humor in new packaging. I have some nerdy friends who like it, and yeah, I get most of the jokes, but it absolutely falls flat to me. I don't think it's anywhere near the uplifting cool-nerd show that people think it is.

And I really can't stand Glee. It's precious and cloying and too "clever" by half. And musical renditions of pop numbers are not really my thing to begin with.
