Job application late because of tornados? Tough $#!%.
Sure, it's hard to apply for jobs online when there's no electricity to run the computer, or the modem, oh and the network's out anyway ... but if the application deadline is the day before you got power back, well, we're just not gonna consider your application. Go suck on that.

"Dilbert" must have it right. Working in HR turns people evil -- or it just attracts evil people. And hiding behind a Web-based, automated job application system just gives people an excuse to be particularly soulless.
