Pet Peeves

Okay, I'm cranky. I have a lot of pet peeves.

Here's one. I get mailings to persuade me to subscribe to magazines. That's fine. I don't subscribe to magazines via mailings. If I want to subscribe, I'll go to the website. It's easier, faster, etc.

Here's the peeve. I just hate it when the subscription price online is higher than the subscription price offered in the mailing. Why would they charge one price online and another via the mailing? All they've done now is irritate me and cause me not to subscribe.

Sure, you'll tell me to call and they'll probably give me the lower rate. I don't want to call. It's a frigging magazine subscription. It should not require a phone conversation.

Anyone else? Any other pet peeves?

1. Automated telephone systems that say, "For English, press 1."

For some reason, that just infuriates me.

Mine are too numerous to mention, but include any food sizes other than small, medium and large (I'm lookin' at you, Starbucks), cell phone plans, cable companies, and the phrase "reach out to" (used in lieu of "contact" "email" or "call")
