Good songs about photography please?
I'm having an exhibit of my photography next weekend, and the gallery owner asked me for music suggestions, so I came up with the hokey idea of having all songs about photography, modeling, etc. I'd like them to be good songs, and fairly mellow/upbeat but mainstream. No metal, no gangsta rap, no new country (please) -- yes, background music-ish.

Here's a list of what I have so far from my iTunes... amazing how many different songs are simply titled "Photograph"

Camera - R.E.M. Reckoning 1984
Centerfold - J. Geils Band Flashback 1985
Developing My Pictures - George Jones The Great Lost Hits 1967
Freeze-Frame - J. Geils Band Flashback 1985
Girls on Film - Duran Duran
I Hate Camera - The Bird & The Bee The Bird And The Bee 2006
I Turn My Camera On - Rock Kills Kid The Music From O.C.: Mix 6 - Covering Our Tracks 2006
I Turn My Camera On - Spoon Gimme Fiction 2005
I'm too Sexy - Right Said Fred
Kodachrome - Paul Simon The Paul Simon Collection: On My Way Don't Know Where I'm Going 2002
Oblivious - Aztec Camera New Wave Hits Of The '80s: Just Can't Get Enough, Vol. 12 1983
Oui Camera Oui - The Heavenly States SXSW 2010 Showcasing Artists
Photobooth - Exlovers SXSW 2009 Showcasing Artists
Photograph - Blue Rodeo Five Days In July 1994
Photograph - Camper Van Beethoven Camper Vantiquities (Bonus Track Version) 1993
Photograph - Jason Falkner Metal Rules 2006
Photograph - Natalie Merchant & R.E.M. Retrospective 1990-2005 2005
Photograph - Ringo Starr Ringo 1973
Photograph - Weezer the green album
The Picture - Loudon Wainwright III History 1992
The Picture - Son Volt The Search 2006
Picture Book - The Kinks The Village Green Preservation Society 1968
Picture Book - Young Fresh Fellows This One's For The Ladies 1989
Picture In A Frame - Tom Waits Mule Variations 1999
Picture In A Frame - Willie Nelson It Always Will Be 2004
Picture Of A Broken Heart - Boz Scaggs Come On Home 1997
Pictures - Galaxie 500 Today 1988
Pictures in an Exhibition - Death Cab For Cutie Something About Airplanes 1998
Pictures Of Lily - The Who The Ultimate Collection 1967
Pictures Of You - The Cure Disintegration 1989
Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands - Snow Patrol A Hundred Million Suns 2008
The Sweetest Thing - Camera Obscura 4AD Sampler 2010
This Is The Picture (Excellent Birds) - Peter Gabriel So 1986
What's Wrong With This Picture? - Lloyd Cole The Negatives 2000
Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You) - A Flock of Seagulls The Best of A Flock of Seagulls 1987
Your Picture - Clarence "Frogman" Henry Mickey Blue Eyes 1961

Can you add any more please? Thanks!

1. "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEmJ-VWPDM4

and I'm sure you know what else it's about. ...

I've got your picture of me and you
You wrote "I love you" I wrote "me too"
I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do
Oh it's in color Your hair is brown
Your eyes are hazel And soft as clouds
I often kiss you when there's no one else around

I've got your picture, I've got your picture
I'd like a million of you all round my cell
I want a doctor to take your picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You've got me turning up and turning down
And turning in and turning 'round

I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so

I've got your picture, I've got your picture
I'd like a million of them all round my cell
I want the doctor to take a picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You've got me turning up and turning down and turning in and turning 'round

I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so

No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women
No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark
Everyone around me is a total stranger
Everyone avoids me like a cyclone ranger
That's why I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so

because i just read that very long list and was thinking, were any of these GOOD songs????

even "kodachrome," the paul simon song, suffers simply by virtue of having been over played, we can't hear it

the rest are just "meh"

so i am glad you brought "turning japanese" to mind, truly a fine song...

p.s. good luck on the gallery showing and also sorry for putting this reply in the wrong place, i've got a gift for that...

21. Red Light - Siouxsie and the Banshees
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilBjc3wWwDA

She falls into frame with a professional pout but the polaroids ignite on seeing their subject and the aperture shuts-too much exposure

Voyeur sucks into focus-floodlit the glossy kiss-pit but as emulsion drips down...down
the aperture shuts-too much exposure

Come into this room-Come into this gloom See the Red light rinsing another shutterslut wincing the sagging half-wit sister
pretty, pretty picture
of an ancient nipple shrinking-that Kodakwhore winking 'til the aperture shuts-too much exposure.

Sioux: vocals, camera
Severin: synthesizers, rhythm box
Budgie: drums

okay, so it's not mainstream..... still it's a great song and great visual.
