I want to take a picture of that and post it on Win Blog.

12. Actually, The Boondocks is a great place for live music.
And it's in the middle of the city.

16. When I first moved to Tucson, I had been visiting my folks 1-2x/yr for almost 20 years, but...
.
.
.
...I had no idea about neighborhoods or areas of Tucson.
.
.
.
When I started looking for a place to live, besides being near a bus line
and the usual amenities of grocery store and laundromat, I had two main
features that I wanted to be within walking distance of -- a library and
a blues bar.
.
The Boondocks is a block away from the Woods Library branch of the
Tucson Public Library. Home. Lived there for 5-6 years, then in 3-4
other places in the general Tucson area (including 2-3 years within
a mile of Picacho Peak way out in the desert NNW of Tucson) and am
now back within 3 blocks of that original home (although I don't go
out bar-hopping anymore).
.
The Boondocks is an INCREDIBLE blues bar -- the couple that owns it
KNOWS the business of booze AND blues and they book great local and
touring talent. Everything from bikers to 3-pc suits coexist happily and
peaceably at that joint.
.
BREAT story I learned from one of the bouncers about that huge wine
bottle landmark (which is now painted a sickening shade of green ALL
over instead of that cool turquoise-and-grape-and rattan Chianti-looking
job). It has an access panel at the base so that someone can crawl in
and work on the wiring for the lighting on the outside of it (extending to
the top), but that lighting hasn't been used in years. The interior of the
bottle is hollow and weatherproof. Management discovered that some
homeless guy had been living INSIDE the bottle for maybe weeks... but
maybe YEARS. For liability purposes, that access panel has now been
welded shut for many years.
.
.
I always thought it would be a great little "tiny home" -- no running
water, but power for heat and undetectable interior lighting. Although
I would have undoubtedly been busted in no time because of the song
I would have been singing on a regular basis:
.
"Bottle of wine on the INside o' me... bottle of wine on the OUTside o' me.
La-dee-dah-dee-dah."
.
.
.

The best of the Elves
The best of the Dwarves
The true king of men
And even the bravest of hobbits.

Advised by Elrond, Wearer of Elven Ring of Power

Aided by Galadriel, Wearer of Elven Ring of Power

Led by Gandalf the White, Wearer of Elven Ring of Power

And with the reunited Horsemen of Rohan.

:)

Some favorite quotes.

But then something happened that the Ring did not intend. It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable. A hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire. For the time will soon come when hobbits will shape the fortunes of all...

Galadriel: I know what it is you saw, for it is also in my mind.
(telepathically)
Galadriel: It is what will come to pass, If you should fail. The Fellowship is breaking, it has already begun. He will try to take the Ring, you know of whom I speak. One by one, it will destroy them.
Frodo: (telepathically) If you ask it of me, I will give you the One Ring.
Galadriel: You offer it to me freely? I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired this.
(starts to grow dark)
Galadriel: In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!
(she stops)
Galadriel: I have passed the test. I will diminish, and go into the West, and remain Galadriel.
Frodo: I cannot do this alone.
Galadriel: You are a Ring-bearer, Frodo. To bear a Ring of Power is to be alone.
(reaches out her hand)
Galadriel: This is Nenya, the Ring of Adament. And I am it's keeper. This task was appointed to you, and if you do not find a way, no one will.
Frodo: I know what I must do, it's just that... I'm afraid to do it.
Galadriel: Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Anyone wonder why Tolkien chose the name Galadriel? I have wondered on that. Although some might think differently on that.

What could go wrong. :)

I don't know if they ripped that off from "The Blues Brothers" or not, but it is a sign outside of a house along a main road.
