*Sneakers*
What a fun movie! Just finished watching this 1992 spy movie with a light heart...(mostly)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105435/

Good ensemble cast, lots of action, crazy plot that is highly improbable, to say the least...

I loved it!

How very cool!

A very smart, stylish, timely story!

What was your husband's role?

7. actually - it wasn't official
he met one of the writers on a plane and they went over the script; my husband recommended some changes, including some technical stuff, and the writer named one of the *key* characters after him. ;) My husband wasn't named (didn't want to be).

5. did you notice?
The title of the movie is the only part of the title sequence that was not anagrammed. I wonder what could be made from it?

6. My dear Sentath...
You know, you're right...

And I didn't notice.

That was a really clever opening sequence...

I felt as though it allowed you a peek at how the movie would unfold, what sort of spirit it has.

And indeed, what can the word sneakers be made into?

Movies are like that.

Just saw the Siskel & Ebert review on YouTube. They didn't have a high an opinion of the film, but judging from their comments I don't think they really "got" it either.

16. No, alas, I did mean ten...
I cannot add! 1992 is nearly 20 years ago, isn't it? :dunce:

Our book on movies by Leonard Maltin gave it a rather poor review too. Two and a half stars.

I don't think he "got it" either.

29. It's a fantastic, funny movie, and as much as I like Ebert, he's a bit of a
stick in the mud about some things. Not getting this movie is part of his general stickiness.

21. I remember that
Dick Gordon: National Security Agency.
Martin Bishop: Ah. You're the guys I hear breathing on the other end of my phone.
Dick Gordon: No, that's the FBI. We're not chartered for domestic surveillance.
Martin Bishop: Oh, I see. You just overthrow governments. Set up friendly dictators.
Dick Gordon: No, that's the CIA. We protect our government's communications, we try to break the other fella's codes. We're the good guys, Marty.
Martin Bishop: Gee, I can't tell you what a relief that is... Dick.

Whistler: I want peace on earth and goodwill toward man.
Bernard Abbott: Oh, this is ridiculous.
Martin Bishop: He's serious.
Whistler: I want peace on earth and goodwill toward men.
Bernard Abbott: We are the United States Government! We don't do that sort of thing.
Martin Bishop: You're just gonna have to try.
Bernard Abbott: All right, I'll see what I can do.
Whistler: Thank you very much. That's all I ask.
