That's so sad to have attention deficit disorder when you're hosting an Oscar, but, I can understand the distraction. So many popular people to look at, that if it were me, I would have had a seizure.

Although Hathaway has some impressive acting parts to her resume (Havoc, Rachel is Getting Married, Brokeback Mountain) lately she seems to have fallen into the Rom-Com pit and last night that's the Hathaway we saw.

Franco has an inmpressive acting career even with the stints he's done on General Hospital. He normally plays edgy characters and he's not afraid to take risks with his parts.

They were not well cast together, I think Franco would have done better hosting by himself; in fact I think he would have been amazing. Hathaway was more suited as hosting something like "America's Got Talent" or some other schlocky 'you can do it' type reality show.

He probably had fun filming those bits like the Inception spoof but in general he was just miserable and it showed.

Anne Hathaway annoyed the CRAP out of me. When she got to the bit where she announced that the best part of the job was "getting to breathe the same air" as the next presenter - OPRAH! That was it for me. I expect the Oscars to be painful, but that was more vomitous than I was prepared to handle. I had to bail.

IMO, just because someone is ancient doesn't mean they deserve to be hauled out for an extended standing O.

Kirk Douglas is supposed to have done some pretty terrible things, including some heinous mistreatment of women. And if the very persistent rumor is true, he may have raped a 15 yr.old Natalie Wood (Natalie's biographer as good as named him, and Natalie was terrified of him and refused to work with him).
