When I was 23 and in my career's infancy, I lived in a small town where I didn't know, or want to know, anyone. I ended up being friends with the barber next door. He was about 75 at the time. We'd go to his house, drink whiskey and listen to Gordon all the time, he was an interesting man who'd led an interesting life. I miss that guy.
